2nd CALL FOR PRESENTATIONS
Be Alert! These are the main dates to keep in mind regarding the Call for Presentations:
Submission of Oral Communications:
- - Submission of summary of oral communication (2nd call) - 12th April
- - Communication of acceptance of summaries (2nd call) - 29th - 31th April
- Submission of the article of the oral communication (1st and 2nd call) - 10th May - - Submission of the power point presentation – (1st and 2nd calls) 10th May
- - Oral communications will take place on the 17th May, in Parallel Sessions
- - Topics of oral communications: Odour Management - sectoral case studies (waste sector [1st call], water sector [1st call], industry [1st and 2nd calls]- Paper mills, Petrochemical, Chemical, Food industries, Agriculture and livestock sector, Others).
Note: inclusion in the Congress program is conditioned to the effective registration of the author designated for oral communication within one month after communicating the acceptance of oral communication.
Rules for online Submission of Abstracts:
- - To submit the abstract of the oral communication the candidates should send an email with the document in PDF format to eventos@apea.pt.
- - It should be included in the subject of the email "Submission to Call for Presentations".
- - The abstracts to be submitted should focus on relevant issues through accepted thematic areas: Odour Management in industry sector (2nd call)
- - Abstracts should have a maximum of two pages and be written in English and in Times New Roman font, 12 pt, 1.5 spacing between lines, 6 pt spacing and 3 cm margins.
- - The abstract should mention the Call for Presentations, the title of the article, the name of the author (s) and contact of the author with whom all correspondence (e-mail, postal address and telephone) should be established, as well as the institution to which it belongs, if applicable.
- - The written working language will be English, except in exceptional cases previously agreed with the Organizing Committee.
Rules for Oral Communications:
The authors of the abstracts of the oral communications selected (1st and 2nd calls) should:
- - Send the presentation in a power point format until 10th May (it should be prepared for a maximum of 10 minutes).
- - Send the oral communication article, with a maximum of 10 pages, in digital format, until 10th May, in order to be included in the Conference online minutes book.
- - The working spoken languages for Oral Communications will be English and Portuguese
Rules for the Article of Oral Communication:
The oral communication article should not exceed 10 pages, including figures and attachments.
The oral communication article must be sent electronically until 10th May.
The oral communication article must comply with the following formatting rules:
- - Font: Times New Roman.
- - Page Format: - Top Margin - 3 cm. - Lower margin (Bottom) - 3 cm. - Left margin - 3 cm; Right margin - 2 cm.
- - Title: titles must be small (maximum three lines), but with enough information; bold, letter size 11, centred, with three spaces in relation to the top margin.
- - Author (s): font size 10, bold, centred, with a blank line of range in relation to the title.
- - Address of the institution (s): letter size 9, centred.
- - Summary: in English, letter size 9, with indentation to the left and right of 1 cm, single space.
- - Keywords: each article must be accompanied by a list of 3 to 4 keywords, identifying the content of the article; font size 9, immediately following the table of contents (leaving a blank range line)
- - Text: font size 10, single spacing. Paragraphs of the text: first line 0,5 cm.
- - Titles in the text: font size 10, upper case. Authors referred to in the text: font size 10, upper case.
- - Figures or tables: illustrations (drawings or photographs) of good quality, in black and white, so that they can be enlarged or reduced.
- - Subtitles: font size 9.
- - Acknowledgments: font size 9.
- - Bibliographical references: font size 9, containing: author (s) (in capital letters, arranged alphabetically). (date) - Title of the article or of the book (in italics in the second case). Journal, in abbreviated italic; when in doubt write the full name of the magazine.
- - Each quotation - 1st line 0 cm, remaining lines forward 0.3 cm.
NOTES:
- - The written working languages for the Articles of Oral Communications will be English and Portuguese, except in exceptional cases previously agreed with the Organizing Committee.
- - All figures, maps and other illustrations should be presented in versions that can be opened in Word (extensions: pcx, bmp, jpg, tiff, cbr, gif, jpeg, emf, tga, pcb).
- - The writing of the communication should follow the current standards of scientific writing. In the notation of quantities and physical units, the International System of Units must be used.
