  • Louise Francis - Co-founder & Managing Director, MfC - Mapping for Change (UK). Louise Francis has a background in environmental sciences and over 15 years’ experience of working with authorities, communities and NGOs in the UK, Europe, Africa and Eastern Caribbean.
  • Maria Alonso - Business Development Executive, MfC - Mapping for Change (UK). Maria Alonso is an environmental scientist with experience in international projects ranging from sustainable mobility to Agenda 21.
  • Rosa Arias - CEO & Founder, SfC - Science for Change (Spain). Rosa Arias is the CEO & Founder of SfC and OdourCollect creator, she is a Chemical Engineer and Master’s in Energy with more than 10 years experience in odour pollution and research and innovation international projects.?

  • Mapping for Change (MfC) is an award-winning social enterprise part-owned by (University College London). It was born out of ongoing research since 1998 centred on citizen science, participatory mapping and geographic information systems. MfC continues to specialises in community engagement, aiming to empower individuals and communities to make a difference to their local area through the use of mapping and geographical information. With over 13 years’ experience providing bespoke solutions to public, private and third sector organisations, MfC have delivered more than 50 projects, both in the UK and internationally, aiming to: collate public perception, interpret and present results, trace impact, disseminate engagement activities, track changes over time, identify key areas for planning, etc. To know more about Mapping for Change: LINK.

  • Science for Change (SfC) is an SME born in 2019 to exploit the results of the European project D-NOSES (dnoses.eu) and replicate the methodology developed in the field of citizen science to address other socio-environmental challenges, in addition to odour pollution. SfC coordinates and executes several research projects on citizen science and scientific communication, both at the European level (H2020 program) and at the national level (FECYT calls), with the aim of meeting the Sustainable Development Goals and challenges (SDGs) proposed by the United Nations (UN). SfC participatory and highly inclusive research allows us to bring science closer to society to generate changes, through citizen participation and the collection of new data series that help address social and/or environmental challenges, with the ultimate aim of informing and improving policies and allow citizen participation in the decision-making process, also following Principle 10 of the United Nations of the Rio Declaration. To know more about Science for Change: LINK.
